The BST (Basic Standards Training) course is an introduction course and therefore requires no previous training or experience. It is a 1 week course, 8 hrs per day Monday to Friday. This course is mandatory to work with any security company in British Columbia.

In addition, our security company Steele Security Inc. hires the top students off the course and in some cases all of the students depending on the availably of work. There is also a number of companies in the Abbotsford and Chilliwack area that are looking for properly trained guards. We refer our students to them upon completion of our course.

Course Outline

Students can expect an acceptable course load in order to succeed. It is important to understand that students must keep an acceptable attendance level and maintain specified graded averages. The instructor will evaluate the students’ progress on a day to day basis and will insure that the student is meeting the necessary academic standard and maintaining attendance as planned. Failure to maintain an acceptable course load may result in dismissal from the course.

3. Legal Issues
4. Documentation
5. Personal Safety

There is an application form to complete prior to commencing training. It is suggested that you complete this application and send it back to us before the course start date. We also require a deposit of $100 prior to the start of the course. Visa and Mastercard are accepted.
